Summary

The Implementation Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day functions in the Implementation Department, managing Implementation Department staff and their work load, managing implementation projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manages day to day functions of the Implementation Department
  • Reports directly to VP, Professional Services
  • Manages implementation projects and staff
  • Train and mentor staff members both in position content and responsibilities but also in order to assist employees in moving to the next level in their career
  • Manages client requests for additional Professional Services
  • Manages departmental processes for new client implementations, client professional services requests, and client cases of problems
  • Reviews and maintains Implementation operational procedures
  • Works with other department Managers to ensure smooth operations
  • Prepares annual reviews for direct reports
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred; or combination of education and additional experience


  • Experience

  • 3+ years in Implementation processing, managing a staff of implementers or consultants, and experience with operational process development. Experience in the area of Time and Labor Management and Payroll are a plus.


  • Skills/Licenses/Certifications

  • Ability to excel in a team-based environment
  • A working knowledge of current industry trends, standards and practices

  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and problem resolution
  • Ability to utilize new tools and technologies in a rapidly changing environment

  • Must be self-motivated and support a changing environment and culture
  • Position will require off-hours and weekend work – as defined by department management
  • Travel less than 20%
  • Need to lift up to 10 pounds
  • The successful employee will need to handle users that may not be very happy nor very patient. The position has a bit of freedom associated with it.
  • A successful employee will be able to fill his/her time with helping others, researching problems, and studying different computer references, program management techniques, and general management tools
  • We wish to see all employees better themselves within the realm of their position. This can be done with off-site training, computer based training (CBT), Internet exploration, and reading of different industry publications
  • Required to participate in weekly and monthly Management meetings and training sessions
  • At no time should an employee have downtime
  • The employee is expected to keep management abreast of all tasks during a given day
