Summary

The project manager’s primary responsibility is for the planning, direction, and coordination of activities of designated projects to ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters



Key Responsibilities

  • Maintains knowledge of all candidate Valiant systems and projects
  • Institutes sound project management “best practices.”
  • Communicates effectively and in a timely manner with all project stakeholders>
  • Assures team members have clear understanding of their roles and goals; assures accountability for their assignments
  • Measuring and monitoring goal progress on a daily basis by tracking all technology projects with NetSuite Projects
  • Facilitates discovery/requirements definition meetings with clients
  • Good understanding of the required project outcomes and the technical work needed to produce the desired results
  • Identifies resources and facilitates subject matter and technical experts’ participation in the project
  • Reviews work products at milestones for time, quality and accuracy
  • Manages all technical communications with the project team, including client
  • Participates in developing and reporting project status to project sponsors or management team
  • Facilitates weekly project management and status meetings
  • Administers project/requirements change control procedures
  • Identifies and mitigates project risks
  • Contributes to updated, detailed, resource loaded and leveled project plans and project status reports and resolves deviations from the original project plan
  • Provides weekly updates and variance reports
  • Provides technical guidance and direction in all areas of analysis and programming including timeline, specifications, quality assurance, and documentation
  • Advises project sponsors on related issues
  • Coordinates approvals and sign-offs as required by appropriate personnel
  • Acquires professional and technical knowledge by attending training sessions related to the role


  • Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s degree a plus.


  • Experience

  • Five plus years work experience as a project manager and/or business analyst
  • Experience with use of cases, business modeling techniques and Project Management software
  • Knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and practice
  • Knowledge of the Time and Attendance, and Payroll Industry
  • Experience working collaboratively with business owners, subject matter experts, and development teams during the requirements, and implementation phases
  • Experienced Project Management Certification (PMC) a plus

  • Equipment/Software

  • Modern office/computer equipment with related software including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project; Netsuite CRM system knowledge a plus.
